| Artist Statement |
After living in the heart of the city in Minneapolis for twelve years, I relocated to Phoenix, AZ in 2007. Following several career paths as teacher, small business owner, corporate trainer, then sales and marketing specialist, I began painting in watercolor in 2002. I fell in love with the wonders of watercolor and haven’t stopped painting since!
As a former city dweller, avid golfer, traveler and now desert resident, my supply of “material” is plentiful. I have not as yet chosen a specific subject matter, as everything I see presents a new challenge in interpretation. The joy I experience has increased as I gain validation
for my work not only from my audience, but from fellow artists as well.
From sunrise to sunset I am most intrigued by nature’s way of lighting the city, the course, the desert and the ocean’s beaches. The essence of my art is to capture this magic and to convey the deep enjoyment I derive from my experiences. Watercolor, as a medium, provides unlimited options in achieving this goal.

| While painting is a relatively new undertaking for me, I have sought to express my creativity all my life. I am a classically trained musician and continue to find pleasure at the piano. Working with watercolor gives me yet another outlet and, along with the challenge, painting gives me untold joy.
